Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and BookkeepKit ("we", "us") for your use of bookkeepkit.com and its tools (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you use it for a business, you accept them on that business's behalf.
1. The Service
BookkeepKit provides browser-based tools for converting and inspecting financial files, plus templates and calculators. Free tools can be used without an account. Statement converters include a free daily allowance and paid plans with higher or unlimited usage, as described on our pricing page.
2. Your files and your responsibility
Files are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us, except on the document conversion pages (PDF to Word, Word to PDF, PDF to PowerPoint, PowerPoint to PDF), where files are converted by our partner CloudConvert (see our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for having the right to process the files you use, and for reviewing every converted file before importing it into your accounting software. Automated extraction can misread a date, amount or description, especially on unusual or scanned statements. We show balance checks and a preview to help, but you remain responsible for the accuracy of your books.
3. Not professional advice
Templates, calculators and guides are general information. They are not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice and don't replace a qualified professional. Tax rates, IRS tables and mileage rates are provided for convenience and may change.
4. Accounts
Keep your sign-in credentials secure and tell us about any unauthorized use. One account belongs to one person; Business plans may be used to manage files for multiple clients. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service, try to circumvent usage limits, or break the law.
5. Paid plans and billing
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the merchant of record for all orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; you keep access until the end of the paid period. One-time page packs are valid for 12 months from purchase. Refunds follow our Refund Policy. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
6. Acceptable use
Don't reverse engineer the Service to build a competing product, resell access, automate mass usage outside your plan, or use the Service for fraud or to process data you aren't authorized to handle.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, its design and code belong to us or our licensors. Files you create with it belong to you. BookkeepKit is not affiliated with Intuit Inc., Xero Limited, Microsoft Corporation or Apple Inc. QuickBooks is a trademark of Intuit Inc. Xero is a trademark of Xero Limited. Excel is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. iPhone is a trademark of Apple Inc. Other product names are used only to describe compatibility.
8. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that every statement layout will be recognized or that a generated file will be accepted by every version of every accounting program.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or business. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you haven't paid anything.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site or by email at least 15 days before they apply. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may stop offering a feature, in which case active subscribers receive a pro-rated refund for any prepaid period they can no longer use.
